Netgem said it has acquired French cloud gaming company Gamestream, allowing it to expand its immersive TV offering to internet carriers while building its presence in several emerging markets. Gamestream focuses on white-label cloud gaming services which deliver games content sourced through publisher partnerships.
Netgem will now take over these partnerships and expects to benefit from a stronger presence in the cloud gaming segment, building on an existing Netgem gaming solution that is being trialled in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Gamestream has assisted those efforts through a strategic partnership announced in 2023, though the deal only covered European markets. Taking over Gamestream marks a strategic shift with Netgem becoming a cloud gaming operator directly rather than focusing solely on distribution and integration.
